Iran animation 'Empty View' wins Van Gogh Award in Netherlands

Directed by Ali Zare Ghanatnowi, 'Empty View' has been honored with an award at the 8th Amsterdam Film Festival (AFF) in Netherlands.

Directed by Ali Zare Ghanatnowi, 'Empty View' has been honored with an award at the 8th Amsterdam Film Festival (AFF) in Netherlands.

The flick that has been produced over a period of 2 years and a half recieved Van Gogh award for the Best Animation of the festival.  

The animation narrates the story of a long-awaited mother who hopes to see her son again. The son has been away on war.

The Amsterdam Film Festival welcomes films that capture both the artistry and progressive nature of world cinema today. Created to award films that have potential to move audiences and change perceptions, the Amsterdam Film Festival is devoted to filmmakers who are looking for making themselves understood and to communicate.  

Each year, the Amsterdam Film Festival recognizes excellence in filmmaking in several categories with the prestigious Van Gogh Awards.
